Belfast is a great place to go shopping with loads of high street stores and designer outlets. Whether you're looking for top bargains, designer clothes, the latest high street trends, antiques or just a souvenir of the city, there's an endless choice.

You can start your shopping spree on the Lisburn Road – it's often called the Bond Street of Belfast. As you walk along you can pop in and out of the designer stores and boutiques. In Donegall Square, near City Hall in the heart of the city, you can check out a range of fabrics at the Spinning Wheel, while Spires Mall on Wellington Street has plenty of designer labels and gift shops.

Just off Donegall Square is Donegall Place, and here you're in high street retail heaven! Popular stores include Monsoon, Next and Top Shop as well as Rio, The Disney Store, The Original Levi Store, WH Smith Ltd, Beaverbrooks, Ernest Jones, The Clarks Shop, Accessorize, Optical Express, Boots, Foot Locker and Marks & Spences and Karen Millen.

Other retail hot spots include Victoria Square while two of the city's top shopping centres are Castlecourt Shopping Centre and Forestside Shopping Centre. Castlecourt, on Royal Avenue, has been a huge shopping hit in the city since it opened in the late 1980's. Stores here include Debenhams, Gap, Laura Ashley, Easons, Principles, Next, Angel Paris and Exhibit.

Forestside Shopping Centre is located in Upper Galwally in the city. Stores include Marks & Spencer, Dunnes Stores, Faith, Clarks, Carphone Warehouse, A Wear, New Look, Next, River Island, Dorothy Perkins, Principles, Evans and HMV.

You can also check out Belfast's famous markets. Smithfield Market is located at West Street and Winetavern Street, opposite Castlecourt shopping Centre. You'll find everything you're looking for here from collectable comics to zips. St Georges Market, situated opposite Belfast Waterfront Hall, is great for arts, crafts and antiques. Built between 1890 and 1896 it's one of the city's most popular landmarks. The Friday Variety Market, from 6am to 1pm, is especially popular with fresh fish, fruit & veg, cheese, meat etc., much of which has been sourced locally.
