Bread and Butter Pudding

2 slices thinly cut bread and butter
2 level tablespoons sugar
1 level tablespoon sultanas
1 egg
Vanilla
½ pint milk
1 level tablespoon chopped peel

Cut bread into neat pieces. Place alternate layers of bread and butter (butter side downwards) and fruit to half-fill a pie-dish.

Beat the egg and add the milk (warmed) and sugar. Pour into pie-dish and allow to soak for some minutes. Grate nutmeg on top.

Cook at a temperature of about 200C for 30 minutes.
