Camping Pods Lake District

Pod camping is an eco-friendly, innovative way, to stay dry whilst camping. The pods are attractive wooden units are that are almost a cross between a summer house and a wooden hut. The idea is that you turn up with everything that you would for a camping holiday, minus the tent.

The camping Pod is effectively a wooden tent for you to set up camp in, without any of the hassle. No more struggling with fly-sheets in driving rain, or looking for tent pegs in the dark. An added advantage of the pod is that it has lockable double glazed, French windows, allowing visitors peace of mind when they go off to explore the wonderful English Lake District.

As more of us are now going 'green' on our holidays it is great to know that the camping pods are made from local wood. Each of the camping pods being lined with sheep wool for added insulation and should your holiday coincide with those blisteringly hot summer days, the roof has been specifically designed to keep the heat down inside.

Lake District Camping Pods are primarily aimed at families - with each pod holding a maximum of two adults and two children.

Camping Pod are available for hire at these Lake District campsites:

Langdale and Wasdale - both National Trust sites
Eskdale camping and caravan site
The Quiet Site at Ullswater, which has won a David Bellamy Gold environmental award
Fell End Caravan Park near Arnside and Silverdale in south Lakeland
