How about a Bournemouth Stag Night?

By: Robert D. Thomson

If you are looking for a destination with sun, sand and sea for your stag night, and are looking for a destination in the UK rather than abroad, the you should bear in mind looking at the Uk's sunny south coast resort on Bournemouth.

Once known as the old people's retirement home of the south, Bournemouth has re-invented itself as a buzzing party city. The city is now chock-a-block at the weekends, with young urban things searching for a amazing time, and stag weekends and hen do's mix in with the local crowd.

Daytime Activities:
Bournemouth has an extensive variety of daytime activities which make use of the sea and beach, such as yachting, powerboats, wakeboarding and waterskiing. For those who are extra traditional about there stag night activities, there is also paintballing, go kart racing and some of the best quad bike trekking in the country, covering miles of countryside tracks. Bournemouth is also in close proximity the Isle of White, and if you are looking for something that is really different, then why not hire a yachting boat and pop over to the white isle for a relaxing lunch and pint. Alternatively if yachting seems a bit sedate, you can hire some extremely quick powerboats which will blast you from Bournemouth the Isle of White in a little over half an hour - be warned though, this will be a bouncy ride, and you may not feel like eating when you get there - or the way back may well be a little stomach churning!!

Evening Activities:
During the night Bournemouth comes alive as local crowd mingle with stag and hen do's, and the local student population. The centre of city is chock-a-block with an extensive variety of classy bars, swish new restaurants and numerous clubs which are pleased to accommodate stag and hen do's in fancy dress. The city centre is somewhat compact and is set just a few streets back from the main beach, making all the night scene within somewhat easy walking distance. With everything so compact, your stag night will save the money for quite a few beers by not having to order taxi's to get from bar to bar - every little counts! With regard to the clubs, it is advised to book your entrance in advance - most clubs get extremely busy and it would put a really damper on your stag night if you couldn't get into a nightclub through a lack of forethought.

Bournemouth Accommodation:
Due to Bournemouth's resort status, it is chock-a-block with an extensive variety of accommodation, from small 2/3 room hotels, to classy 5 star spa hotels. Bournemouth's peak season normally occurs from April till October, and prices during the peak summer months can become extremely expensive. For any stag night looking at this destination, you should also be well aware that most of the hotels will not accomodate stag weekends, consequently if you are wanting to go in peak season, you should book your accommodation months in advance to avert disappointment.
