Nike Dunk SB – How to Catch a Fake Nike Dunk SB

By: Harry Peter

The urge to put an end to the nuisance of counterfeit Nike Dunk SB sneakers is why I am writing this article. It isn’t easy to make a comprehensive checklist considering the sheer number of models, but the critical points here help you tread your path carefully and avoid what can be sure fire fakes.

Indicators to Genuine Nike Dunk SB
Let us get in right across.
1. Embroidery on upper heels: Real Nike logos are embroidered in shining, reflective threads in bold with standard spacing. Notice the handles of letter “E” that grow in length by 1-2mm as you work downwards.
2. The outsole: Bear in mind two critical issues with regard to Nike Dunk SB. The embossed logo, the Swoosh, the registration characters -“®” and the name “NIKE” can be seen and felt as equals in height. Fakes don’t mind this. Further, the edge of grip button is filleted which is hardly possible to emulate by fakes makers who finally resort to make chamfered grips.
3. Zoom Air: Workmanship of fake shoes shows explicitly, particularly with Zoom Air, aside of the quality of material. Genuine Zoom Air is translucent in off-white color. Nevertheless, the fit-and-finish of Zoom Air has a story to tell whether the shoes are legit or not. Ugly fitting and outpouring glue etc confirm what they are.
4. Size Tag Label: There is no place like the size tag to for check genuineness of Nike Dunk SB shoes. The barcode on it must touch the numbers printed under it; it is fake if it fails. Fake shoes conspicuously miss out on using fonts as in genuine pieces. For example, the letter “Q” in “FABRIQUE” must have its tail starting from inside of the letter in a real piece. Also, the letter “C” in © must be in Serif in case of genuine shoes. Don’t let the stitches without checking, look for loose stitches and cheap threads which indicate fake makes.
5. The tissue, box and the tongue: Tongues of real SB Dunks resemble inverted triangles with a bit of sag. They stick out over the last lace hole by about 2cms in the least. As for the tissue papers, they are pure white in color with real Dunk SB pieces. Fractional sizes are printed as superscripts and close to the main size. The color of box will be truly bright and striking, not at all dull.
6. The lace bag: The lace bag can hint a thing or two of things to expect; lace bags of fake shoes are printed with shoddy fonts as opposed to genuine bags which are shiny and smooth. Further tag pinholes located above the closure indicate genuineness otherwise they may not be so. Nonetheless, their typical size is 13.5cm x 7.5cm.

You may use these as starting block to think in positive direction. Always check the positioning of label, laces, inside tags and quality of materials to be doubly sure. Still, this checklist helps in judging whether you are investing in a genuine Nike Dunk SB or not.
