Now an international event – the Taste Festival comes to Cork city from Friday the 27th of June to Sunday the 29th of June. This 3-day event, held in Cork City Gaol Heritage Centre, is home to over 60 food and drink exhibitors.
Special features include: Drumms Chef Demonstration Theatre where you can pick up some handy tips for "try at home" culinary delights, Woodford Bourne Wine Academy, where reps from world famous vineyards will hold seminars and Edward Dillon Cocktail Academy - where you can learn to mix that perfect cocktail!
This is definitely the most exciting gourmet event of the year and top local restaurants like Ballymaloe House, Fenn's Quay, Longueville House and Jacobs on the Mall are just some of the restaurants to showcase their signature dishes in state of the art marquees set up especially for the event.
The organisers have come up with a novel idea by introducing a special event currency – "the Florin" – equivalent to one Euro. Booklets of florins can be bought from "Taste Banks" or from roaming florin sellers – if possible please purchase in advance as queues can be quite lengthy. There are also various ticketing options available to you:
Standard Ticket (approx €25) - is entry to Festival only.
Premium Pass (approx €40) – is entry to Festival plus €20.00 in florins.
V.I.P. Pass (approx €75) – is entry to Festival, entry to dedicated V.I.P. enclosed
area, €25.00 in florins, and complimentary cocktail and glass of champagne.

Choose whichever session suits you – either 12.00p.m. to 4.00p.m. or 5.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. Please note, Opening Day has only one session from 5.30p.m. to 9.30p.m.
The events is held in one of Cork's top attractions – the Cork City Gaol. It can be found on Convent Avenue, Sunday's Well in Cork city.
