Things To Do Before Birthday Party Commences

By: Joseph Then

OK, are you ready for your kid’s birthday party? Well, most parents don't even know if they are prepared for their kid's party
This article will help you prepare your party.
Being ready for your child’s birthday party is important. The best way you can be sure to be ready is to start your planning early and stick to your plan. Your kid can help you with your plans but don’t plan on them being much help. The party is too much of an excitement for a kid to stay focused.
Four hours before the birthday party starts
On the actual day of the party you will want to make sure that your house is prepared. Start decorating 4 or 5 hours before the party starts. Locate all of the supplies for your games and crafts and keep them properly. Make sure you have enough punch and other snacks to go along with your birthday cake. Prepare a few extra places just in case more guests show up. You should check the guests list and double-check who hasn’t RSVP yet and if you have their number to call and see if they are able to show up. Not only because you want to be sure that there are enough guests but you will want to be prepared for the bigger crowd.
Three hours before the birthday party starts
Prepare the tables with napkins, glasses and forks/spoons. The plates can be set aside near the birthday cake so they are available easily when you are serving the cake. You can make place cards if you want assigned seats for the kids. As an idea, you can include party favors that the children can take home. If you have any last minute food you need to prepare now is the time to make sure they are ready.
2 hours before the birthday party starts
It is time to clean up and get ready for the birthday party. By this time you already have the the games and decorations set up. The birthday cake is ready and food is ready. You need to dress your kidfor the party.
I recommend that you add some balloons outside your house so that it makes it easier for your guests to look for your place. I know of parents who actually tie balloons from the main road all the way to their house as their house is a distance off the main road.
Do have a gifts table near the door so that when your child receives the gift they can put it on the table. This same table can also serve as a place to put your party bags so that when the guests leave they can take them home.
One hour before the birthday party starts
Dress the birthday child if you have not done it. You should have an activity area set up so you can start the party as soon as guests show up. I recommend that the first activity should be a quiet activity to keep everyone’s attention while keeping the guests together in one area. Activities like face painting & tattoos are recommended.
Have your cell phone with you at all times, especially if your house is difficult to find.
Let the party begin!
